PILGRIMAGE HIGHLIGHTS:
- Dublin – including Trinity College & the Book of Kells
- Early Celtic sites – Monasterboice, Tara, and the Hill of Slane, where Saint Patrick courageously lit the first paschal candle in Ireland, drawing many to Christianity.
- Kildare – sites related to 5th century saint, Brigid of Kildare, patroness of Ireland.
- Glendalough – one of Ireland’s most beloved and scenic monastic sites, founded by St. Kevin.
- Cobh – Visit Cobh Heritage Centre, which tells the story of the 2 million-plus emigrants who departed from Cobh Harbor to foreign lands.
- Killarney – the scenic Ring of Kerry, plus Valentia Island and the Skellig Experience, telling the story of the monks of Skellig Michael.
- Dingle Peninsula – famous for its Celtic pre-Christian monuments and ancient Christian churches.
- Bunratty Castle – Built in 1425, famous for its medieval madrigal dinner banquet replete with Castle Singers and traditional Irish songs.
- Ennis – the friendly town that is home to the 13th century Franciscan Friary (a National Museum of Ireland).
- Cliffs of Moher – one of Ireland’s most spectacular natural wonders, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
- Galway – located on the Wild Atlantic Way, a city best known for its arts and culture.
- Connemara – a scenic land of lakes and rivers, bogs and mountains, where Gaelic is still the spoken language, likely the wildest and most romantic part of Ireland.
- Aran Islands – three Galway Bay islands are the home of contemporary Irish speakers and the remains of early Christian monasteries and hermitages.
- Knock – Our Lady of Knock, Ireland’s most beloved shrine to our Blessed Mother.
