REV. DAVE HENEY, KCHS
Father Dave Heney, KCHS, will be serving as the All Members Retreat Master at this year’s annual meeting. Having grown up in Thousand Oaks, CA, he was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in 1978. In 1991, he received a Master’s degree in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling. Father Heney is a prolific publisher on topics of parish life, morality and ministry, and an amateur archaeologist leading pilgrimages to the Holy Land.
Father Heney no serves as pastor of Saint Bruno Catholic Church in Whittier, CA.
The All Member Retreat is open to all members and guests.

Rev. Richard Vega, KCHS
Rev. Richard Vega, KCHS has been a member since 2014. He will be serving as the Retreat Master for the Promotee at this year’s Annual Meeting. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, he was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles on June 18, 1983. Fr. Richard holds a Master of Arts, a Master of Divinity, and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies.
Father Vega is currently pastor of St Frances of Rome Parish in Azusa, CA.

REV. FREDERICK ADAMSON, KHS
Father Frederick Adamson, KHS. will be serving as this year’s Investee Retreat Master.
Raised in Southwest Michigan, he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Phoenix on June 3, 1995. Father Adamson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Divinity degree from Saint John’s
Seminary in Camarillo, CA.
He has served at several parishes over the years, and he was appointed Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia on July 1, 2004.

Thursday Evening
madaleine School choir
As we gather for the Annual Meeting in 2024, we remain mindful of the ongoing efforts necessary to support our Christian brethren and sisters in the Holy Land. The Choir of the Cathedral of the Madeleine, featuring the Choristers of the Madeleine Choir School, will offer a musical lamentation from the annals of music history. The choir will prayerfully express and convey our mission to continue to support the Christian community in the Holy Land and those who live and serve in the land of our Lord.
Following a wonderful dinner, the concert will begin with Spanish Renaissance composer Alonso Lobo’s setting of the Lamentations of Jerusalem which marks the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple at the hands of the Babylonians in the late Sixth Century. The poetic melodies of the Spanish composer align with the exile of the Israelites with the sorrow, lament, and passion of the death of our Savior Jesus Christ.
The concert will continue with settings of the venerable Psalm 122, the great Psalm of Ascent chanted by pilgrim traveling from Jericho up to the Temple in Jerusalem. Here, the choristers will offer musical setting of this text, marking the importance of Jerusalem as the center of all who derive our faith from Abraham, seeing Jerusalem as the inspiration and source of unity for the entire family of God.
The choristers regularly perform at worldwide venues in locations such as Venice, Assisi, Paris, Prague, and St. Peter’s Basilica. Locally, they are featured performers with the Utah Symphony and Utah Opera and perform multiple times per year at the Cathedral of the Madeleine.
Ticket price includes dinner, concert, and transportation to and from the event. We will depart from the hotel at 5:30 p.m. and will return before 9:00 p.m.
Friday Morning
Utah Olympic Park
Your motor coach will take you from the hotel, directly to the Utah Olympic Park in Park City in just 30 minutes while passing through one of the most scenic drives in Northern Utah. A professional guide will join your coach to guide you through the event park which includes the Olympic Bobsled, Luge and Skeleton track (one of only 4 in North America), the Nordic Ski Jumps, newly developed ski event training terrain and a state-of-the-art training facility for aerialists.
After the tour, you will disembark and enter the 2002 Winter Olympics museum until lunch is served in our private room. After lunch, we venture out onto the observation deck to watch our private aerial performance by the Flying Ace All-Stars. Watch in amazement as elite skiing athletes perform complex aerial acrobatics off ski jumps, landing in the specially designed training pool surrounded by the backdrop of autumn colors on the mountains.
The Olympic Park was a major venue for the 2002 Olympics and will be a major host to events at the upcoming 2034 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics! After the Flying Ace’s performance, your motor coach will transport you directly back to the hotel in plenty of time to relax and refresh before the evening retreat events.
The cost per event attendee is $140 and includes all transportation, guided tour, private lunch and aerial performance by the Flying Aces. This is an event you will long remember and cherish as you watch the future Olympic games.

The FamilySearch Genealogy Library Tour
Located just a few blocks from the hotel, The Genealogy Library is a state-of-the-art family history research center operated by the LDS Church. Our meeting attendees will receive instructional presentations on how to use the resources of the Library to research their family history and learn more about their history, mission, and methods. Presentations will be tailored to include its partnership with Catholic entities around the world striving to preserve records, focus on immigrants from predominantly Catholic countries like Italy, Ireland, Germany, Mexico, and the Philippines and will have experts available to assist individuals on conducting family research.
Even if you currently subscribe to other available genealogy sites, you will find they often integrate with the Family Genealogy Library for an enhanced experience.
Many EOHSJ members that attended a similar session at a prior Annual Meeting have requested this event. The facilities and capabilities, as well as the technology and databases have been significantly enhanced in the past few years. After attending this event, you will be able to continue your research online after you return home, free of charge, but fully informed of how to be effective and efficient in researching your family history. Conversations that result from this event are sure to be lively!
Lunch will be provided on site and prepared by the famous Lion House Pantry, prepared fresh from the historical home of Brigham Young.
The cost of $40 per event attendee covers the meal, presentation, meeting facilities and customized help during the event.
