Dear Knights and Dames,
We are pleased to invite you to a special presentation on September 13th, the vigil of the Feast of the Exaltation of The Cross.
This feast commemorates the discovery of the True Cross by St. Helena in the 4th Century. Constantine, influenced by his mother’s discoveries and his own conversion to Christianity, ordered the construction of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem to enshrine the True Cross and other holy relics discovered by Helena. It was during the dedication of Church of the Holy Sepulchre, on September 13th and 14th in the year 335 AD, that the True Cross was elevated and venerated.
Deacon Ryan Adams will be leading an insightful presentation, delving into the historical significance, spiritual depth, and enduring symbolism that this sacred occasion holds.
Additionally, the presentation will include a moving video presentation of the musical version of “The Passion of Our Lord” according to St. John by Randall DeBruyn. It is a very reverent presentation of Chapters 18 and 19 of the Gospel of St. John put to music. We would like to thank Msgr. David Sork, Pastor, and Grant Hungerford, Music Director, and the entire choir at St. John Fisher Parish in Rancho Palos Verdes, California for allowing us to broadcast their prayerful performance of this beautiful masterpiece.
Please mark your calendars and save the date. We look forward to your virtual presence at this engaging presentation in honor of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross.
May this presentation be a source of inspiration and reflection for us all.
