As part of our mandate to strengthen our members in the practice of Christian life, the Lieutenancy is pleased to offer an ongoing collection of formation talks.

About the speaker: Most Reverend Ramón Bejarano

  • Auxiliary Bishop of San Diego, appointed in 2020 and consecrated on July 14, 2020.
  • Early Life & Background – Born in Texas in 1969, raised in Chihuahua, Mexico, before moving to Tracy, California, at age 18, where he worked in the fields to support his family.
  • Journey to Priesthood – Entered seminary at age 20, studied in Tijuana and Oregon, and was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Stockton in 1998.
  • Pastoral Leadership – Served in various parishes, including as founding pastor of Holy Family Parish in Modesto and later as pastor of St. Stanislaus Church and the Cathedral of the Annunciation.
  • Current Role & Mission – Leads efforts as Vicar for Ethnic and Intercultural Communities, Justice, Life & Peace, and Ecumenical & Interreligious Affairs.
