The Reverend Sir Mark A. Strader, KCHS, Pastor of St. Luke the Evangelist in Temple City, CA, shares weekly reflections with our members this Advent Season:
“I can only imagine the initial fear in the Blessed Mother’s mind as the Archangel Gabriel appeared announcing her fate. My ears hear the words of peace offered to her, beckoning her to not succumb to fear but to trust in the Lord. ”
“This Advent the members of our Order are called to rejoice in the Lord always and to announce the Good News through the many programs we sponsor. We do so confident that the ‘peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.’ ”
“During the Advent season, we are encouraged to reflect upon our ‘true home’ and to learn how to swiftly be led. We are encouraged by John the Baptist to get our bearings straight and our paths smoothed out. To repent and to change our mind and heart for the Lord.”
“Advent provides us the opportunity to change some personal and communal habits to focus on ‘Adventing’ and be for others that Gospel example in the face of a society that likes to jump into the season of Christmas too soon.”
